In 2024, cyber threats in Italy reached higher levels of sophistication, with a significant increase in targeted attacks against companies, institutions and citizens.
Based on data collected by TIM’s Security Operation Centre (SOC), DDoS attacks rose by 36% compared to 2023, reaching an average of 18 incidents per day.
The intensity of these attacks is notable: nearly four out of ten exceeded 20 Gbps, increasing the complexity of detection and mitigation activities.
The Cyber Security Report 2025 analyses these trends. It is the first report produced by TIM in cooperation with the Cyber Security Foundation, with contributions from the TIM Research Centre, and focuses on the main cyber risk trends in Italy.
