Italy remains Europe’s leading market in terms of mobile data traffic, with nearly 21 exabytes recorded in 2025, a volume significantly higher than in the other major European countries, combined with the strongest growth rate (+20%). Mobile data traffic is accelerating both in Italy and across Europe, driven by the rollout of 5G and improvements in network quality.
In Italy, this trend is further reinforced by some of the most competitive prices in Europe, which help sustain particularly high levels of data usage (Italy ranks among the top 10 OECD countries for average data consumption per mobile subscription).
