In 2011, through the acquisition of Eletropaulo Telecomunicações  and AES Communications Rio de Janeiro, renamed TIM Fiber San Paulo and TIM Fiber Rio de Janeiro, it added  to its infrastructure a fiber optic network with more than 5,500 km in 21 cities of the aforementioned regions.

To reaffirm the company's commitment to providing high-quality services in even the most remote and inaccessible areas of the country, TIM laid more tha 1,700 km of fibre optic cables in North Brazil (Amazonas, Pará and Amapá), totalling today more than 90,000 km of fiber optic network.
