The TIM Brasil Group operates as a mobile operator, also providing fixed and convergent services
The Group closes the third quarter of 2020 with 12,590 million of reais of revenues, with a -1,6% decrease compared to the same period of 2019. Services revenues - ammounting 12,224 million of reais- decreased by 0.1% compared with the first three quarters of 2019. Mobile customers are 51,2 million, of which 40,2 million are 4G users, and it has a 22.4% market share.
TIM Brasil was the first mobile operator to be present in all Brazilian states and today confirms its commitment: it is #1 in 4G coverage - reaching 3,545 cities and 94% of the urban population - and is accelerating the expansion of the optical fiber coverage.
In September 2020 the FTTH technology (Fiber to the Home) reached 3.1 million homes, while FTTC surpassed 3.7 million. This represents a total of 6.1 million homes in 32 cities. TIM Live, the fixed residential ultrabroadband offer, reached a customer base of 627K .
During its presence in the country, TIM Brasil has become the pioneer in launching products and services, such as the introduction of MMS and Blackberry in Brazil. Continuing this trend, TIM keeps adding to its portfolio new and innovative offerings.
With a focus on the development of its network, TIM Brasil, in 2009, merged with Intelig, a fixed, long-distance and data transmission provider, to expand its infrastructure and improve its competitive positioning in the telephony market.
In 2011, through the acquisition of Eletropaulo Telecomunicações and AES Communications Rio de Janeiro, renamed TIM Fiber San Paulo and TIM Fiber Rio de Janeiro, it added to its infrastructure a fiber optic network with more than 5,500 km in 21 cities of the aforementioned regions.
To reaffirm the company's commitment to providing high-quality services in even the most remote and inaccessible areas of the country, TIM laid more tha 1,700 km of fibre optic cables in North Brazil (Amazonas, Pará and Amapá), totalling today more than 90,000 km of fiber optic network.
Tim Participações, the holding company, has ADRs (American Depositary Receipts) listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It is also one of the select group of companies included in the Corporate Sustainability Index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange.
