Speed is not the only factor that determines the quality of a connection. When many people use the network at the same time, especially in crowded places, access, continuity and stability also become important.
Following Wi-Fi Priority, TIM is bringing the Priority concept to the mobile network with 5G Priority, a new solution that provides greater priority access to network resources during periods of high traffic, particularly useful for those who rely on mobile connectivity intensively for work, study or entertainment.
The service is designed to provide a smoother and more stable experience, especially in crowded places such as stadiums, concerts, trade fairs, airports, train stations and major events, where the number of connected users can increase rapidly. In these situations, 5G Priority allows users to continue using services such as video calls, streaming, gaming and content sharing with greater continuity.
Priority is managed dynamically by the network and does not affect the quality of service for other users. 5G Priority is available on TIM’s mobile network in both 5G and 4G, in areas where the service is enabled.
TIM is the first operator in Italy to introduce this type of priority on the mobile network.
The service can be activated in two ways, depending on users’ needs: for 48 hours, to use Priority when needed, for example during an event or while travelling, or through a monthly subscription, for continuous access to the service.
With 5G Priority, TIM is expanding the Priority experience from Wi-Fi to the mobile network, supporting increasingly intensive and diverse uses of connectivity
