Telecom Italia clarifies that the Parent Company net profit in the 3rd quarter of 291 million euros (431 million in the 3rd quarter of 1999), was influenced by the provisions relating to charges taken to reduce personnel that amounted during the period to 379 million euros. Such expenses also affected the 3rd quarter consolidated net profit that totalled 274 million euros (585 million euros in the 3rd quarter of 1999).
