Telecom Italia announces that the buy back of savings shares, resolved by the Shareholders´ Meeting of January 14, 2000, ended today with the purchase of 112,998,070 Telecom Italia savings shares, 1,793,820 of which were purchased during the Public Tender Offer held between February 17, 2000 and March 17, 2000. The global amount purchased corresponds to 5.22% of the outstanding saving shares and to 1.52% of Telecom Italia´s total capital. The total disbursement amounts to circa 711 million euros (1,376 billion lira).
