The two companies announce the first Intel Pentium 4 personal computer with preinstalled ADSL modem

This venture is the result of an agreement between Telecom Italia Domestic Wireline, Telecom Italia’s Business Unit for fixed-line network operations, and Intel, the world’s No 1 chipmaker and one of the world’s leading suppliers of personal computer products, networking and communications.
The result of this collaboration is a PC equipped with an Intel Pentium 4 processor and a preinstalled, preconfigured ADSL modem ready for surfing the Internet using the latest Alice connections. The combination of an Intel Pentium 4-based PC and Alice access (at speeds of up to 1.2 Mbit/sec) provides all the power users need to get the most out of the Internet: always on access, fast downloads even of large files, more fluid video streaming, and the chance to experience faster online gaming, exploiting all of the latest 3-D graphics and videoconferencing technology advances.
