Telecom Italia customers who visit Germany, the United Kingdom, Holland, Austria and the Czech Republic can use their regular subscriptions to surf the net wirelessly and access broadband services
Roaming agreements have extended Telecom Italia’s WiFi service to 50 different countries, opening up a total of over 30,000 hotspots worldwide
Telecom Italia and T-Mobile International (a Deutsche Telekom Group company) have entered into a series of international roaming agreements which extend WiFi service coverage to Germany, United Kingdom, Holland, Austria and the Czech Republic.
With their usual Italian accounts and access procedures, all Telecom Italia customers in these five European nations can now wirelessly connect to the internet and use broadband services at T-Mobile Hot Spots (of which there are more than 13,000 in Europe and the United States). All that’s required is the customer’s username and password; there’s no need to go through signup procedures.
Similarly, all T-Mobile, T-Com and T-Online customers (belonging to Deutsche Telekom’s three strategic business units) can access Telecom Italia’s WiFi service at any of Telecom Italia’s 800 hotspots across Italy.
This agreement builds on Telecom Italia’s commitment to developing public WiFi hotspots and extending service coverage to customers over a much wider footprint.
This latest roaming agreement with top international carriers means that the Telecom Italia WiFi service is now active in 50 different countries, from more than 30,000 hotspots around the world.
Telecom Italia and T-Mobile International are members of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), which includes the world’s leading telecommunications companies. Founded in March 2003, the Wireless Broadband Alliance’s mission is to support the adoption of wireless broadband technologies and services around the world by developing common commercial, technical and marketing structures, and to ensure interoperability between different carriers’ networks.
