Telecom Italia announces that today, at the headquarters of Italian stock market regulator Consob, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Company, Mr. Marco Tronchetti Provera, and the Chairman of the Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (Consob), Mr. Lamberto Cardia, to discuss the strategic plans of the Company and the Group.
Telecom Italia further announces that the Board Meeting called for tomorrow, 11 September 2006 at 3 pm, will address – as well as the results for the six months ended 30 June 2006, as already announced – the reorganization of the Group’s fixed and mobile assets.
The road-map for the achievement of that objective will be communicated to the market without delay, once the Board of Directors has taken the decisions required of it.
The Company, having informed Borsa Italiana (the Italian stock exchange), has requested the suspension of trading of its shares tomorrow.
