Telecom Italia is launching Line@Medica Diabete, a groundbreaking service that allows diabetics to check their glycaemic level when out and about.

The solution harnesses reliable, user-friendly and intuitive technological tools to measure glycaemic levels and other blood parameters such as cholesterol and triglycerides at home or out and about.

Impresa Semplice’s Line@Medica Diabete works with DominoMobile Meter test-tube diagnostic devices, and via Bluetooth displays the readout on a BlackBerry smartphone. Test results can be sent over a data connection to a web application hosted at Telecom Italia Data Centers, allowing patients to consult their glycaemic diary stored electronically and updated automatically directly from their Blackberry or PC whenever they choose. Patients can also share this information with their medical team.

The solution consists of a glycaemia measuring device, access to the web platform that handles the patient data, a BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone on an exclusive price plan, and help desk assistance, all for €21 per month (including VAT).

The service is available exclusively to members of diabetic associations which are covered under a framework agreement with Telecom Italia. To find out more about signing up to this offer and about the service itself, call the toll-free number 800 661199 (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM).

The latest new development in the Impresa Semplice portfolio of offers, Line@Medica Diabete shows the brand’s ability to roll out advanced technological solutions that respond to emerging needs in a variety of business and social contexts. This new solution once again demonstrates Telecom Italia’s commitment to developing advanced information and communication technology services that enhance people’s quality of life and raise standards of efficiency in the healthcare sector.
