TIM: ‘Operazione Risorgimento Digitale’ supports consumers in developing digital skills

Launch of free webinars with Adiconsum, Adoc, Altroconsumo, Cittadinanzattiva, Codacons, Federconsumatori and U.Di.Con. to learn about the potential of the Internet and encourage its aware and safe use

10/28/2020 - 11:15 AM

Educate citizens and consumers on the aware and safe use of the Internet in order to seize all the opportunities and benefits of digital life, preventing the main online risks: from the correct use of digital tools for managing money to online purchases and new ways of accessing information, products and services. This is the aim of the new free Operazione Risorgimento Digitale’ online training courses launched with the support of Consumer Protection Associations. This great alliance promoted by TIM and over 30 partners of excellence in the public, private and non-profit sectors seeks to close the cultural digital divide in the country.

In particular, in collaboration with Adiconsum, Adoc, Altroconsumo, Cittadinanzattiva, Codacons, Federconsumatori and U.Di.Con., November marks the launch of the ‘Aware and Safe Digital Consumers’ training course, with content and free webinars for citizens and consumers to promote the smart, safe and aware use of technology.

The initiative strengthens the collaboration between TIM and the Consumer Protection Associations, increasing awareness of how digital tools can substantially improve daily activities. Consumers will be able to seize the opportunities offered by the digital world through various areas of learning and to develop the necessary skills to extricate themselves from the digital market, avoiding IT pitfalls and preventing risk situations, starting with the search for reliable information on the web.

A broad section of the webinars will cover how to access the online services of the Public Administration, benefiting from digital rights and services for healthcare, welfare or tax matters, starting with the services made available by Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale (Agency for Digital Italy), SPID and PagoPA. Attention will also be paid to the role of the family, with webinars aimed at parents which seek to promote the aware use of the Internet and devices by children. Finally, there will be a focus on countering fake news, one of the biggest hidden dangers on the Internet, particularly at times of collective emergency where fear can spawn the circulation of unfounded news that spreads unchecked. Further information is available on the website Operazione Risorgimento Digitale.

The new ‘Operazione Risorgimento Digitale’ training activities created in collaboration with the main Consumer Protection Associations confirm TIM's role in speeding up the spread of digital skills throughout the country. This commitment is executed in synergy with primary partners of excellence, including public and private entities, trade associations, the voluntary sector and important players in the field of social innovation, whose purposes are now shared and promoted by numerous Consumer Protection Associations at a historical time of great transformation which requires greater updating capacity through all communications channels.
