The TIMVISION schedule was presented today: ‘The magic box of your wishes’ with a new, full programme of original productions, popular films, series premieres and cult series, cartoons, great sport and entertainment for the whole family. Moreover, the new agreement with Discovery+ was announced, making TIM TV the most complete platform with the most competitive offer on the Italian market.
The presentation was attended by Luigi Gubitosi, TIM’s CEO, Luca Josi, TIM’s Head of Brand Strategy, Media & Multimedia Entertainment and Andrea Fabiano, TIM’s Head of Entertainment.
The Group’s strategy of strengthening alliances for the distribution of new content with the most important sector players was confirmed during the presentation, thus confirming TIMVISION as the main aggregator of quality television content, able to respond to all needs of the audience. In this regard, TIM presented its agreement with Discovery, which will allow TIMVISION to offer its customers all the network’s free-to-air channels, as well as Discovery+ from January: 8,000 hours of entertainment, 3,000 hours of complete series and 2,300 hours of newly released digital content. This also includes the XXXII Olympic Games of Tokyo to be held next summer. The partnership stands alongside the exclusive agreement with Disney+ (in combination with TIM’s offers) and collaborations with Netflix, Sky/NOW TV, DAZN, Mediaset, Turner, ViacomCBS Networks Italia, Chili, Prime Video and VatiVision.
TIMVISION is now the main television aggregator with a unique portfolio of content in Italy and it intends to strengthen its strategy so that it can continue to offer customers excellent content, combining simplicity of use with ultrabroadband fixed and mobile connectivity. TIM TV has just surpassed 2 million registered customers.
The viewing experience is further enhanced and simplified by the functions of the TIMVISION Box which – with a single interface – provides access to the content of TIMVISION and its partners, many other entertainment APPs for the whole family, as well as digital terrestrial channels, making the television it is connected to already set for the new DVB-T2 technology.
“With the support and trust of the CEO,” stated Luca Josi, TIM's Head of Brand Strategy, Media & Multimedia Entertainment, “we have embarked on a new path for TIMVISION in the conviction that television entertainment is one of the keys to TIM’s transformation. We have integrated communication, media and content into a single working group, making good use of the creative and project synergies between these worlds, and together with all of TIM’s departments we have covered each aspect, turning TIMVISION into a magic box of dreams capable of satisfying everyone’s desires thanks to the extraordinary range of content, which now also includes our first original productions.”
“Over the course of the last year,” remarked Andrea Fabiano, Head of Entertainment at TIM, “we have developed a big project which involved all of TIM and gained the interest and trust of extraordinary television partners. This undertaking has resulted in the fast and clear evolution of TIMVISION: in just a few months we have succeeded in putting together an excellent entertainment offer which can be easily accessed with the TIMVISION Box and is available to customers without restrictions at a clearly advantageous price.”
