Olivetti, the TIM Group company specializing in IoT and operating within TIM Enterprise, has obtained B Corp certification, the international recognition awarded by B Lab, which brings together a global community of over 10,000 companies in more than 100 countries.
Obtaining B Corp certification demonstrates that Olivetti meets B Lab’s standards for social and environmental impact, transparency and accountability, while also committing to objectives that go beyond shareholders’ interests. Through the B Corp certification process, companies are required to provide evidence of their performance and to legally embed in their corporate bylaws a commitment to pursuing common benefit purposes, becoming Benefit Corporations.
This certification marks a significant milestone in the TIM Group’s strategic journey, aimed at enhancing the contribution of its technology factories to the development of digital solutions capable of generating economic, social and environmental benefits. Within this framework, Olivetti contributes IoT technologies and data platforms for businesses and public administrations, making processes, infrastructure and services more efficient and strengthening TIM’s role in the development of a more sustainable and competitive digital ecosystem.
B Corp certification is the result of a journey that began in 2022 with the decision to adopt Benefit Corporation status, incorporating common benefit purposes into the company’s bylaws alongside its economic objectives. The most significant performance areas relate to People, Community and Governance, with evidence linked to welfare, professional development, inclusion, responsible supply chain management, ethics, transparency and control systems. The achievement also recognizes impact initiatives integrated into the business model, such as solutions for smart cities and digital infrastructure, as well as initiatives aimed at resource conservation in the Office segment.
Olivetti is now part of a growing community of more than 10,000 companies worldwide that have achieved B Corp certification. With 387 B Corps employing over 41,000 people and generating revenue of more than 23.3 billion euros, the B Corp community in Italy is one of the largest and most dynamic in Europe.
