TIM is joining the 22nd edition of M’Illumino di Meno, Rai Radio2 Caterpillar’s campaign dedicated to energy saving and promoting more responsible consumption patterns, organised to mark National Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles Day. On 16 February, TIM will turn off the lights at its main offices in Rome and Milan and involve around 17,000 employees, inviting them to adopt behaviours that promote the virtuous use of resources in everyday life. This message will also be extended to customers, who will receive a dedicated text message tomorrow inviting them to join the initiative and contribute to the spread of a shared culture of sustainability.

Joining M’Illumino di Meno is part of a broader vision of sustainability which represents a structural element of the Group industrial strategy: the ESG plan aims to make infrastructure more efficient, reduce emissions and consumption, enhance talent, promote gender equality, strengthen IT security and drive Italy’s digital evolution.

“For TIM, sustainability is a daily commitment that informs all our industrial, technological and organisational choices. It is with this approach that we want to drive change, starting with our infrastructure, data centres and people”, emphasises Maria Enrica Danese, Head of Corporate Communication & Sustainability at TIM.

A tangible example of this approach is the project implemented in Rozzano, where the heat generated by a TIM Data Centre is recovered and used for district heating in around 5,000 homes in the ALER neighbourhood, with an estimated reduction of around 3,500 tonnes of CO₂ per year due to the reduction in consumption of gas and other fossil fuels. Alongside its environmental commitment, TIM is committed to social change through actions aimed at overcoming the gender gap within the company, known under the umbrella of the #LaParitàNonPuòAspettare campaign.

Digital sustainability is also an essential component of TIM’s industrial role. With the #RompiLaBolla project, developed in collaboration with the Osservatorio for Independent Thinking, the Group promotes digital education programmes in schools, aimed at strengthening critical thinking and the conscious use of media and social networks.

At Group level, TIM has integrated sustainability objectives into its long-term strategy, with a structured plan to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency and focus on the social impact of its activities. By joining M’Illumino di Meno 2026, TIM confirms its commitment to combining technological development, environmental responsibility and social impact, making a real contribution to a sustainable transition that involves industry, local areas and people.
