The 24th edition of the "TIM Grandi Firme" tournament kicks off

TIM, Telecom Italia’s mobile telephony brand and official sponsor of Lega Calcio, presents the 24th edition of the "Torneo Grandi Firme TIM", which every year sees journalists from Italy’s leading journalists from the press, television and radio compete against each other on the playing field.

The 2010 edition of the Trofeo Grandi Firme TIM will see the participation of 13 teams in the Open category and 8 teams in the Over-40 category. The kickoff is scheduled for tomorrow at Rome’s Futbolclub Sports Center.

Pitted against each other in matches of two 25-minute halves will be teams from ApCom, Corriere dello Sport, Il Velino, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rai International, il Tempo, Il Messaggero, Metro, Radio Capital, RMC, Sky Sport, Sky Tg 24 and ANSA in the Open category, and teams from Corriere dello Sport, Sky Sport, LA7, Il Messaggero, ApCom, La Repubblica, Ballarò/Rai International and il Sole 24 Ore in the Over-40 category.

Through its TIM brand, Telecom Italia has always been close to the world of sports, soccer and team sports by supporting and promoting high-profile events. TIM is also the sponsor of the TIM Serie A and Serie B Soccer Championships, of Lega Calcio’s main events and of Italy’s national soccer team.
