At the Balance Sheet Oscar 2011, Telecom Italia won the Special Prize for Corporate Governance.
In a year characterized by heavy financial crisis and deep socio-economic uncertainty, the award jury presided by Professor Angelo Provasoli recognized Telecom Italia’s increasing attention to the theme of governance. The “well structured” Balance Sheet 2010 under examination touched the jury also for its interactive version, an “easily browsing” tool that follows closely the Group’s technological and innovative component, allowing better traceableness and usability of information also to those not in the know. Jurors especially appreciated the fact that Corporate Social Responsibility was included among the activities subject to verification by the Internal Control Committee. Finally, the description of salaries and fees of Administrators and Mayors was considered good.
Promoted by FERPI (Italian Federation of Public Relations), the Balance Sheet Oscar is being held under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic to award companies that show willingness and commitment to transmit possibly detailed and complex information about their own objectives and results with maximum clarity, integrating financial aspects with those of the CSR. Divided into nine categories, the award saw 24 finalist companies compete for the first prices.
