Discovery and TIM launch discovery+ to TIMVISION customers in Italy

• Discovery Inc, the global leader of real life entertainment and TIM, one of the top Information & Communication Technology companies in Europe and the market leader in Italy, have recently signed a new agreement that will bring discovery+, the definitive real-life subscription streaming service, to TIMVISION customers in Italy

• TIMVISION’s clients will be able to watch the most complete and compelling offer of entertainment, lifestyle, true crime, nature and adventure programming available anywhere

• The agreement also covers the renewal of Discovery’s sports content, including Eurosport’s unrivalled multi-sport offering as well as the Olympics Games

It was announced today by Discovery, Inc. and TIM, that discovery+ is now available to TIMVISION’s subscribers. Using TIMVISION Box, smartphones, tablet, Smart TV or the internet, they will have access to discovery+, the definitive real-life subscription streaming service. discovery+ offers the most complete range of entertainment, lifestyle, true crime, nature and adventure programming: 8000 hours of entertainment, 3000 hours of series and 2300 hours of premieres. The discovery+ offer is part of a broader renewal which also covers Nove, Real Time, DMAX, Giallo, Food, HGTV – Home&Garden TV, MOTORTREND, Frisbee and K2, and the platform also has the best on-demand content available for seven days.

Discovery+ is the one and only streaming service focused on non-fiction content in the market, and it provides a wide range of Italian and international productions, with more to be launched over the coming months.  The launch titles include the brand new season of “Matrimonio a Prima Vista Italia” (Married at First Sight), new episodes of “Cortesie per gli ospiti” and “Deal with it” and documentaries like “Maradona – Morte di un campione” (Maradona - Death of a Champion), “Lady Gucci” and most loved favourites like “Fratelli di Crozza” (comedy) and “Bake Off Italia”. In the next few weeks discovery+ will see the arrival of awaited original productions such as “Ti spedisco in convento Italia” (Bad Habits, Holy Orders) and “Love Island Italia”, as well as an exclusive documentary on Liverpool, the English football team.

In addition to this the service will include Discovery-branded international success stories such as the documentary series of the sinking of the ferry “Estonia”, the culinary tour series “Bobby & Giada in Italy” and the explorer Colin O’Brady’s Antarctic adventure in “Antartic: The Impossible Row”.

The agreement on sports coverage has also been renewed: every single moment of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, which is set for summer 2021, will be shown on TIMVISION. TIM will be the Official Mobile Broadcaster for the games in Italy and TIM clients will be able to download a special app with exclusive content. Eurosport’s sports coverage also includes three Grand Slam tennis tournaments, Serie A basketball, the Euroleague and other European competitions, all the cycling classics and the Grand Tours, winter sports – including FIS Alpine World Championships, 2022 Winter Olympic Games, golf and much more besides.
