Cyber Security Report 2025

Analysis of DDoS and ransomware threats

06/12/2025 - 06:00 PM

In 2024, cyber threats in Italy reached new levels of sophistication, with a significant increase in targeted attacks against companies, institutions, and citizens. Based on data collected by the Security Operation Center (SOC) of TIM, DDoS attacks rose by 36% compared to 2023, reaching an average of 18 incidents per day. Even more concerning is the intensity of these attacks: nearly 4 out of 10 exceeded 20 Gbps, making detection and mitigation increasingly complex.

These findings emerge from the Cyber Security Report 2025, the first report produced by TIM in collaboration with the Cyber Security Foundation, with contributions from the TIM Research Center, analyzing the main risk trends in Italy.
