Mind The Web, the series of meetings promoted by TIM as part of the IDMO – Italian Digital Media Observatory project, dedicated to developing critical skills for navigating the digital world, has come to an end.
The spirit of the initiative is described in the summary video available here:
Wide participation, including from abroad
This school year, the program involved over 46,000 students, with significant participation from Italian schools abroad. This result was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Education and Merit and the collaboration of the schools that joined the initiative.
TIM expertise and external contributions
During the four meetings, Marta Casassa, Gabriella D'Elia, Simonetta Sada, and Mariano Tredicini shared TIM's experience of innovation, engaging with the academic and scientific world on topics related to online information, content dissemination mechanisms, and the impact of artificial intelligence on knowledge processes.
Alongside their TIM colleagues, Vincenzo Crupi (philosopher of science), Michele Marangi (media educator), Beatrice Mautino (science communicator), and Fabio Paglieri (cognitive psychologist) participated as guests, contributing theoretical and practical perspectives useful for understanding how information is constructed and circulated in the digital world.
The dialogue between different areas of expertise and dynamic moderation encouraged the active involvement of the students.
Review the content
The webinar recordings are available on the IDMO website. All schools, even those that did not participate, can continue to use the Mind The Web materials, integrating them into educational courses dedicated to digital citizenship.
A journey that continues
Mind The Web is part of a broader set of initiatives through which TIM contributes to the spread of digital culture, particularly among the younger generations. These include Rompi La Bolla (Break the Bubble), an awareness campaign dedicated to developing critical thinking and online awareness.
This ongoing work promotes skills, collaboration, and knowledge to help young people understand the digital world.
