Mind the Web, connect, think, act

A TIM course for IDMO dedicated to young people to help them navigate information, AI, and the digital world.

11/12/2025 - 05:00 PM

Connect, think, act. This invitation gave rise to Mind the Web, a project promoted by TIM in collaboration with IDMO – Italian Digital Media Observatory and supported by the Ministry of Education and Merit, to spread a more aware and critical digital culture among young people.

Mind the Web is the second project carried out by TIM as part of the Observatory and focuses on how cognitive biases and mental mechanisms influence our digital lives: from the way we interact online, to the perception of truth and the credibility of news, to the formation of our beliefs.

Aimed at secondary schools throughout Italy and Italian schools abroad, the free training course consists of four interactive live webinars, which will then be available on demand on the IDMO website.

During the series of meetings, students and teachers have the opportunity to engage with experts in the field on topics such as the transformation of the media environment, disinformation and artificial intelligence, media diet, and the importance of the scientific method in navigating digital complexity.

Here is the schedule and content of the four webinars:

•    October 22, 2025 – “From TV to TikTok: living in the digital environment” with Michele Marangi, media educator.

•    November 5, 2025 – “Digital disinformation and Artificial Intelligence: from victims to critical users” with Fabio Paglieri, cognitive psychologist at the CNR.

•           November 18, 2025 – “The media diet: feeding on good information” with Beatrice Mautino, science communicator.

•    December 10, 2025 – “The scientific method, instructions for use (digital)” with Vincenzo Crupi, philosopher of science at the University of Turin.

TIM guests (Marta Casassa, Mariano Tredicini, Gabriella D'Elia, Simonetta Sada) will also be present during the webinars.

All course materials are available on the IDMO website, where you can also register individually or enroll your school.

This TIM initiative is supported by the RompiLaBolla campaign, which invites people to “turn on their eyes, not just their devices,” to rediscover the joy of doubt, discovery, and discussion, and to share our way of experiencing digital technology.
