The second of six exhibitions in the cycle "Olivetti and culture in responsible business" dedicated to Jean Michel Folon was inaugurated on 11 December 2021.
The initiative is an integral part of the agreement signed in February of this year by the Municipality of Ivrea, the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti, TIM and Olivetti with the aim of enhancing and making the Ivrea-based company's collection of works of art available to the public.
This exhibition, which can be visited at the Garda Museum in Ivrea until 27 March 2022, is part of the project to enhance the historical and artistic heritage, now owned by TIM, that Olivetti has collected over several decades, in particular from the period after World War II right up to the beginning of the 21st century: it includes hundreds of works of art (paintings, sculptures, art multiples, lithographs and limited edition posters) by great artists and designers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Belgian artist Folon is an emblematic case of the relationship between the Olivetti company and contemporary artists. The exhibition traces almost thirty years of collaboration between the artist, who drew the destiny of contemporary man, and the company that operated on a planetary scale, at the height of the electronic revolution and of information processing systems.
