Sparkle is the first international telecommunications service provider in Italy and fifth in the world for Internet traffic, with a 600,000-km fibre optic network, three Network Operation Centres for 24-hour support, and a commercial presence in 32 countries.
Right now, Sparkle is working to build the Blue and Raman cable system that will connect Milan and Genoa to Palermo and go on to Greece, Cyprus, North Africa and Israel, reaching the Persian Gulf and arriving in Oman and India.
Blue-Raman joins Sparkle's other long-haul routes, including the one between Europe and Africa and the Atlantic and Pacific routes between North and Central/South America.
In addition, Sparkle has built and is expanding its data centres dedicated to network interconnection, notably in Athens, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, and Panama, as well as in Palermo and Milan.
With its operations, Sparkle, and thus Italy, confirms its leading role in strategic telecommunications infrastructure: a hub for North Africa, the Middle East and Asia, a role model in Europe and the Americas, a partner of many countries and global over-the-tops.
Sparkle's contribution will be explained by CEO Enrico Maria Bagnasco at the 15th Conference of Italian Ambassadors Worldwide at the Farnesina. Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 December 2022 will see the traditional appointment during which there will be discussion and reflection on Italy's international action that brings together in Rome more than 100 heads of Italy's diplomatic missions around the world.
