Innovation Lab Experience – Women in STEM

At TIM, dialogue and openness towards young talent are growing.

06/08/2026 - 04:00 PM

Engaging with the next generation, nurturing female talent in STEM, and building meaningful links between universities and the world of work.

With this aim in mind, TIM is continuing its Innovation Lab Experience – Women in STEM initiative, dedicated to female university students in STEM disciplines.

To date, we have met around 120 female students from various universities studying engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, data science and economics, who have gained first-hand experience of the TIM Innovation Labs, engaging with the company’s professionals and working on concrete innovation projects.

From 2026 onwards, the programme has, in fact, been expanded to include group activities centred on challenges and projects proposed by TIM, with the aim of gathering ideas, perspectives and innovative approaches on strategic issues for the company. One of the aspects most appreciated by participants is precisely the exchange of different skills within the teams, which has fostered cross-fertilisation, collaboration and new perspectives.

Applications are mainly submitted through partner universities, confirming the strong bond that TIM is building with the academic world and its desire to create increasingly concrete opportunities to engage with young talent.

This year, following the first two events held in Rome, we will be in Turin on 9 June, where, at the Customer Innovation Centre – OGR Turin, we will meet female students from the Polytechnic University of Turin. Then, after the summer break, we will be at the Innovation Labs in Catania, Milan and Rome again.

The Innovation Lab Experience – Women in STEM events represent not only an opportunity to get to know the world of TIM up close, but also to connect with people within the company and create concrete opportunities for internships, career entry and growth in the fields of digital technology and innovation.

This initiative makes a tangible contribution to reducing the gender gap by promoting access and opportunities for the most promising talents in the world of innovation, because #LaParitàNonPuòAspettare (#EqualityCant Wait).
