Cybersecurity, the strength of TIM's SOC

Technology, people, and training to defend the country's digital infrastructure.

08/21/2025 - 11:00 AM

At TIM, cybersecurity is a shared mission: every day, thanks to the skills and passion of our people, we protect the data, infrastructure, and reputation of companies, citizens, and institutions.

At the Security Operations Center (SOC), TIM's center of excellence for the Group's cybersecurity, a team of highly specialized professionals, supported by advanced technologies, monitors networks, servers, applications, and systems 24 hours a day to identify threats and attacks in real time. The SOC not only “reacts” to incidents, but also prevents them, analyzes risks, and continuously strengthens digital barriers, ensuring maximum protection and compliance with industry regulations.

For companies, relying on our SOC means being able to count on constant surveillance that protects sensitive data, avoiding economic damage and safeguarding reputation. For citizens and institutions, it means having a reliable infrastructure behind them, capable of withstanding an environment in which cyber threats are constantly evolving.

The strength of TIM's SOC lies not only in technology, but also in people: we are always working to identify new talent to bring into the most critical areas of our Cyber Security and to train them in the fundamental technical and cross-functional skills on which we build the reliability of our services.

In this regard, the latest training experience was the boot camp organized with ELIS, which involved 20 participants in 800 hours of education and training on the fundamentals of cybersecurity, such as SOC Operations (processes, tools, and technologies), operating systems and networking, attack and defense techniques, and analytical and operational approaches. In addition, the boot camp helped to create a strong team spirit and strengthen teamwork, a fundamental skill in operational structures such as SOCs, where the synergistic contribution of everyone is crucial for the rapid resolution of critical issues.

Cybersecurity is a strategic asset for Italy's development, and by investing in the growth of skills and the development of talent in this sector, we can make our digital future more secure and reliable.

In 2024, cyber threats in Italy reached new levels of sophistication, with DDoS attacks increasing by 36% compared to 2023 and averaging 18 events per day.
