Telecom Italia Group at 2001 local government Forum

05/07/2001 - 12:00 PM

The Telecom Italia Group is taking part in the local government event Forum 2001 della Pubblica Amministrazione, which runs in Rome from today to 11 May.

On a 555 sq m stand located in Pavilion 23 at the Fiera di Roma, a number of Telecom Italia Group business units (TIM, Telecom Italia Wireline Services, Seat and I.T. Telecom) are showcasing their ranges of products and services designed to provide technologically-advanced solutions tailored to meet the IT and communication requirements of local government.

The Telecom Italia Group has always been committed to developing innovative systems that enable modernization of local government. The Telecom Italia Group has entered into agreements at central and local government level, notably with town councils (Comuni), to facilitate the take-up of broadband services, improve access to information of public utility, and arrange the supply of on-line services. In recent years this has resulted in a significant improvement of public service quality standards, and brought about easier citizen access to services.

The Local Government Forum is the country´s most important event for all those who work in this sector. The Fair provides a major showcase for the Telecom Group business units that offer services to local government and the civil service.

I.T. Telecom, the Group Information Technology specialist company, is presenting its full range of services for central and local government, the health service, finance and business.

Telecom Italia Wireline Services, the fixed telephony and corporate Internet business unit, is highlighting a number of solutions including Full Business Government, an offering that enables government bodies to provide on-line information and value added services through portals designed specifically for E-Government.

TIM services on show include, for the first time in Italy, a venture undertaken with the town council of San Giorgio a Cremano for the development of an interactive messaging solution that enables citizens to obtain information on certificates, transport timetables and other services directly via mobile telephone.

Seat Pagine Gialle, the Group´s multimedia company, is presenting the latest editions of its guidebooks and its brand new on-line and telephone services, providing clearer and more effective information on public bodies.
