Watch the most important games of the Championship on DVB-H mobile phones, and also via Alice Home TV and the Rosso Alice portal with a single subscription
The DVB-H network will cover approximately 100 cities by July. Coverage will reach 70-75% of the Italian population by the end of 2006. Telecom Italia expects this service to win at least 1 million customers by the end of 2008
New advertising campaign launched: policeman De Sica at the Porta Portese market showcasing “TIM TV”

When the next football championship begins, Telecom Italia will launch the first “convergent” telecommunications offer dedicated to football. A single subscription will allow live and exclusive viewing of all Serie A TIM matches via TIM TV on new DVB-H mobile phones, on internet television with Alice Home TV and via PCs through the Rosso Alice portal. Furthermore, it will be possible, only on the new digital handsets,  to see all the Champions League matches of the most important European teams.
Telecom Italia has also signed a new agreement with SKY as a result of which it will be immediately possible to watch SKY TG24 and SKY METEO24 on new DVB-H mobile phones; and soon SKY SPORT NEWS, and FOX will also be available.
The DVB-H network will cover 100 Italian cities by July, including Milan, Monza, Pavia, Turin, Rome, Fiumicino, Latina, Bolzano, Trento, Brescia, Bergamo, Treviso, Venice, Padua, Udine, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, La Spezia, Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Livorno, Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Frosinone, Bari, Naples, Cosenza, Palermo, Belluno and Trapani. By the end of 2006, TIM will reach a coverage of around 70-75% of the Italian population. Telecom Italia has set itself a target of at least one million DVB-H TV service customers by the end of 2008.
TIM mobile digital TV already offers a wide choice of content (Canale 5, Italia 1, Retequattro, La7, MTV and the SKY channels mentioned earlier). “TIM TV” lets people watch their favourite shows while on the move, with image quality comparable to digital terrestrial television.
The Samsung SGH P920 is the first mobile digital TV handset. Equipped with a SIM card that can receive and decode digital TV signals, the handset is UMTS network compatible and incorporates a swiveling screen for improved TV viewing. It is also endowed with advanced multimedia functions (1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 music player, voice recorder, video playback and bluetooth technology).
Christian De Sica’s traffic cop character returns in an advert airing on Italian TV right now. With his daughter at Rome’s Porta Portese flea market, he writes out a ticket to an unlicensed street trader, a charismatic and quick-witted Neapolitan who tries to get De Sica to be lenient and let him keep his pitch by offering him the latest technological wonder: a mobile phone with a built-in TV. It turns out that the item he’s touting is an old portable TV attached to a very obsolete mobile phone. De Sica’s daughter has the latest model with her, so it’s childsplay to thwart the street trader’s vain attempt. The tv spot was conceived by Mortaroli&Friends.
