Telecom Italia: Football Championship kicks off live on Alice Home TV, videophones and web

Games can be watched on television with IPTV, on PCs with Rosso Alice and on the new DVB-H videophones; as well as all the Serie A TIM Championship, the Champions League will also be available

The football Championship is beginning and Telecom Italia is taking the field on many fronts: millions of fans will be able to watch the games live through Alice Home TV, videotelephones and the web.

On the Sports channel of Alice Home TV, Telecom Italia’s TV via Internet, it is possible to watch the football Championship at a cost of 15 euro a month with access to live and repeat transmissions of the games of Ascoli, Atalanta, Cagliari, Catania, Chievo, Empoli, Fiorentina, Inter, Lazio, Livorno, Messina; Milan, Palermo, Parma, Reggina, Roma, Sampdoria, Siena, Udinese for the Serie A TIM and Juventus. If you do not already have Alice Home TV, by subscribing simultaneously to the service and the Championship by 30 September 2006, the games up to 30 November will be offered free by Alice.

Also via PC with Rosso Alice, Telecom Italia’s ADSL portal, it will be possibile to see live the home games of the main teams of Serie A TIM and Juventus at a cost of 4 euro per month if you subscribe by 30 September the first two months are offered free by Alice. Further, Telecom Italia’s Alice portal will include in its football section a wide array of free information, statistics, curiosities and photographs.

It will also be possibile to watch the games on the move and live with TIM’s new DVB-H videophones. By subscribing to the TIM TV service by 30 September at a cost of 5 euro per month, it will be possible to watch the programmes of Canale 5, Italia 1, LA7, Mtv, SkyTG24, Sky Meteo 24, Sky Sport and Sport Italia; this will also includes all the games of the SerieA TIM Championship, the Champions League and Juventus until 31 December 2006.

As well, TIM’s UMTS mobile phones will offer commentaries and services about football, including a commentary by Giampiero Mughini, video goals of the championship and news from the world of football, which can be viewed on TIM’s DVB-H mobile phones, the Samsung SGH P920 based on DVB-H and UMTS technology.
