TIM is first in Italy  to sell the Android-powered mobile phone which allows the use of  Google services. The phone, called Dream, is produced by HTC and will be available in the 2600 outlets belonging to Telecom Italia’s commercial network, with different packages, depending on the client’s requirements.

With this initiative, Telecom Italia confirms its commitment to offering its customers state of the art products, to enrich services, making them simpler and easy to use, and confirming its leadership in mobile internet navigation.

The Dream has been designed to make web surfing a breeze. The phone has a groundbreaking, customizable interface, a touchscreen, a Qwerty keyboard and instant access to internet services and in particular to some of Google’s most popular services including Google Search™ (Google’s web search engine), Google Maps™ (for finding your way and locating local services, including 3-D photographic street views), Gmail™ (Google mail right on the terminal), and last but not least, YouTube™, allowing users to watch popular videos on their mobile phones.

Another feature of the phone is Android Market, where users can download applications from a variety of categories, including entertainment and lifestyle, plus games.

This new phone offers high-speed navigation using HSDPA 7.2 Mbps technology, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, built-in GPS for advanced localization services, and a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus.

The new Dream terminal will be available to contract and prepay customers at an initial cost ranging from zero euros up to €199 depending on the price plan selected. All price plans come with at least 1 GB of inclusive internet traffic per month.

Prepay customers can purchase the phone for €429 if they buy the ‘Maxxi Dream10’ websurfing service card at the same time – the card offers access to 50 MB of data traffic per day for €10 a month. Customers who purchase Maxxi Dream10 before April 30 benefit from a special offer and get the first month free.
