For the eleventh consecutive year Telecom Italia has been confirmed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes World (DJSI World) and Europe (DJSI Europe) and it has been awarded the status of “best in class” in the telecommunications sector, with a score of 91/100.
It is an important reward for Telecom Italia’s social and environmental commitment, for its contribution to technological innovation, as well as for its transparency with its stakeholders.
Inclusion in the DJSI depends on a rigorous assessment made by specialised rating agencies that analyse financial and non-financial performances on the basis of general and sector criteria, including relations with customers and employees, innovation and research, risk management, strategies relating to climate change, supply chain and social/environmental impacts of business.
The presence of a company in sustainability indexes is particularly appreciated by investors who, with increasing frequency, also take into account non-financial parameters in their portfolio choices, believing that sustainable companies bear less risk, in the mid-long term, compared to companies that do not meet environmental, social and governance requirements.
