About 34% of the energy TIM uses will come from renewable sources. With the integration of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) we signed with ERG in May 2021, we will add another 200 GWh/year of green energy to the 340 GWh/year supply already agreed for 10 years.
Powering our fixed and mobile networks, our data centres, and the buildings in which our employees work requires a great deal of energy, which is why we are the second largest energy consumer in Italy. Aware of the impact we generate on the environment, we have therefore set the goal of using increasingly more energy from renewable sources, to reach 100% by 2025, and to reduce our CO2 emissions in this way as well.
The new agreement signed with ERG is another step in this direction, made possible by our strong partnership with the leading independent producer of energy from renewable sources. It brings us closer to achieving our environmental goals and also helps the Group stabilise its energy costs in a situation of particular uncertainty, thus producing benefits for TIM as well as the community.
