Our sustainable growth

Sustainability is a compass that orients our innovation, our partnerships and the solutions and services we offer. It is the link that unites people, helps our customer companies grow, ensures the well-being of the communities we work in, and underpins networks of people and ideas. That is why sustainability is at the heart of our 2020–2022 Industrial Plan.

“As a leading company in the country, we can make a difference, interacting with the environment, society and governance systems so that our work makes a tangible contribution to strengthening society, families and companies.„

Luigi Gubitosi, TIM Chief Executive Officer

By our customers' side

We want to see our customers satisfied and know they trust us. We want to understand their needs and desires and build long-lasting relationships that create value throughout the system. Our solutions and services for individuals, families, businesses and organisations offer simplicity and competitiveness. They improve models of consumption and production and give the environment as much room to breathe as possible.

That is why we are committed to a profound evolution in our models of operation and organisation. We are already faster and more digital and we will go on being.

Business enabler

We are an enabling factor in our country's economy. The solutions offered at our unique touchpoint guide the evolution of the way we work and produce. They allow Italian businesses to grow and keep going, even in emergencies like the one we are in now.

We are agents of innovation. At our laboratories and in partnership with universities and global partners of excellence, we come up with services that help business and improve millions of people's lives.

Leaders of the green revolution

We keep almost 100 million people connected in Italy and Brazil. We run 10,200 stations and 22 data centres in Italy and we sell X million devices every single year. To do all that takes a lot of energy and, inevitably, we do leave our mark on the environment. So, improving energy efficiency is one of our priorities and we want to be carbon-neutral by 2030. We will already be using 11% more energy from renewable sources by 2020, and in the two-year period 2020-2022 we will reduce emissions by 30%.

We want to promote the circular economy, as a tool for development and environmental sustainability. By 2024, 15% of the devices we offer will be regenerated or refurbished, letting us save 14,000 tonnes of CO2 and helping spread conscious, responsible behaviour among our customers.

We are TIM

Some of the pillars of our growth are developing the potential of all our people, offering tools for constant training and opportunities for growth, and ensuring an open environment where our diversity is valued.

We want to keep attracting new talent and offer those who are already part of our team the chance to express their skills and acquire new ones, to better understand our market and society with the best tools at hand.

The engine of digitalisation

Our infrastructures connect Italy and our projects and collaborations are helping digitalise the country.

We promote Operation Digital Risorgimento, a big alliance between institutions, businesses and the third sector that spreads digital skills among people, businesses and public administration. Since its initial phase, in which we went to squares all around Italy and taught Italians about the internet, the project has taken on an even more strategic and systematic role in the wake of the coronavirus emergency. It is now a wide-reaching, free and interactive school, spreading skills that are more necessary today than ever before.
