In regard to the measures taken by the Competition and Market Regulatory Authority, Telecom Italia wishes to clarify that the obligation to grant access to its proprietary civil infrastructures is restricted to the laying of fibre-optic cables and to the provision of multimedia and interactive services to end users.
Telecom Italia has already closed deals with companies that respect and these conditions, and has at all times kept the Authority informed about the progress of negotiations with other applicants.
Telecom Italia also denounces yet another attempt by certain competitors to manipulate a ruling by the Anti-trust Authority for purposes diverging from those that inspired the ruling in the first place, that is to say, to guarantee fibre-optic access to multimedia and interactive services direct to end users. The company is confident that the process underway will conclude in a positive fashion.
