Finsiel, the Telecom Italia Group company that is the country’s leading provider of solutions to the Information Technology market, is the lead firm in the consortium that has won the Consip call for tenders to develop, administer, maintain and support Public Finance IT Management Systems for the Ministry of the Economy’s General Government Accounting Department. The three-year contract is worth a total of €38 million.
Finsiel will be integrating leading-edge approaches and tools in its development of these accounting system applications. New systems are being created to completely automate the processing of public spending and central government financial accounting, and will bring about a complete upgrade of the functional and technological architecture of government income management. Particularly significant is the consulting and support component of the package, whereby Finsiel will work alongside Consip to analyze and update processes.
The public finance system is the institutional hub of the Italian State’s IT accounting system, spanning the entire budget management process all the way from draft budgeting to parliamentary approval, including incomes and assets management and administration of the entire public spending cycle. It also provides documentation and control tools for the Court of Auditors.
