With a notification to AGCom, today marks the official start of the formal procedure, pursuant to Article 50-ter of the Electronic Communications Code, which will see TIM voluntarily separate its access network through the creation of a separate legal entity.
The company, 100% controlled by TIM, will have its assets (access network infrastructure, from the exchange to customers’ homes, as well as buildings, electronic equipment and IT systems) and the personnel necessary to provide wholesale services independently.
The model will guarantee full equality of treatment , thanks to a single access point; a “one-stop shop” for regulated and unregulated wholesale services for all operators, including TIM.
The project, approved by the Board of Directors on 6 March 2018, will follow the procedures laid down in the Electronic Communications Code and the timing defined by the Authority.
The creation of the NetCo will leave the Group scope unchanged, and it will occur in compliance with the provisions of the Golden Power regulations.
