TIM and RAI - through the company RAI COM - have renewed an agreement to offer TIMvision subscribers the best production from RAI Cinema. The agreement includes a choice of over 70 films from the last four years and 200 catalogue films, over 500 hours a year of fiction and TV programmes that will enrich the offer of TIMvision, TIM's on-demand TV.
In the next few months, in fact, RAI CINEMA films will be available for second showings, exclusively in streaming only on TIMvision.
The titles include “Human capital” by Paolo Virzì, “Un fantastico via vai” by Leonardo Pieraccioni, “Sacro Gra” by Gianfranco Rosi and “Still life” by Uberto Pasolini. The agreement will allow TIMvision customers to see the complete seasons of the most successful RAI fiction series, including “Detective Montalbano”, “E’ arrivata la felicità”, “Don Matteo” and TV programmes such as “Nascita di una dittatura” or “Indietro tutta”.
“RAI is an important partner which has accompanied the growth of TIMvision from the outset and this agreement is the natural meeting point between two large Italian companies," stated Daniela Biscarini, Head of Multimedia Entertainment at Telecom Italia|TIM. "For the next 18 months this agreement will bring the Italian cinema of RAI, the largest film and TV series production company, to TIMvision for second showings, thereby enriching the offer for our customers in a distinctive way."
"This agreement will bring the best of Italian cinema of recent years, the most prestigious Italian writers, and the films that won the most prizes at large international festivals to the homes of TIMvision subscribers. For RAI Cinema it represents a strategic opportunity to expand the Italian cinema audience and we are particularly pleased to enter into this agreement with TIM, a partner with whom a path of collaboration started some years ago and still continues in a profitable manner” said Paolo Del Brocco, Chief Executive Officer of Rai Cinema.
“The synergy between two large companies such as TIM and RAI allows us to connect people and stories, providing the Italian public with an extensive offer of quality audio-video content”, stated Luigi De Siervo, Chief Executive Officer of RAI COM S.p.A., the new Commercial Company of the RAI Group. “This is why," added De Siervo, "it seemed natural to us, also thanks to the new opportunities offered by non-linear platforms such as TIMvision, that the two groups would work together.”
TIMvision, TIM's on demand TV offers over 7,000 titles that are always available, with a rich offer of film premiers, great classics and action films that have never been shown on free TV. www.timvision.it
