Telecom Italia: Introducing Impresalive.tv Italy’s first dedicated Corporate TV via the internet service

04/06/2006 - 12:00 PM

Provided by Telecom Italia and the Milan Chamber of Commerce for corporate clients, including interactive functionality, customized programming and thematic channel access

Telecom Italia and the Milan Chamber of Commerce announce that they have started trials of Impresalive.tv, Italy’s first dedicated TV via the Internet (IPTV) service for corporate clients, offering business people their own customized thematic channel. Around 500 testers are involved in the first phase of testing.

Impresalive.tv will offer a large amount of content managed by the La7 channel. Programming will be accessible directly from TV sets connected to a decoder and a modem via 4 Mb per second ADSL lines.

Impresalive.tv programming includes a daily news bulletin focusing on business news, with dedicated coverage of political news and in-depth reports on legal and tax issues. At a later date interviews, comments and features will be available on Italian and international business and economics, with a special focus on the city of Milan, Milan province and Chamber of Commerce activities.

Impresalive.tv puts companies in the driving seat. Companies will have access to tailor-made content, be able to float ideas, share experiences and promote their own business in dedicated areas. New interactive functions will make it possible to personalize programming and access in-depth thematic channels. Impresalive.tv will also include SMS and MMS messaging capabilities, so that users can stay up-to-date on programming and directly take part in discussions.

Initially, programming will be drawn from a library of around 280 items of video content already available on the http://www.impresalive.tv/ internet portal, which in February 2006 registered over 500,000 hits. Access is also available via the Milan Chamber of Commerce website, http://www.mi.camcom.it/. Headline shows include the “Trentaminuti” economics, current affairs and business talk show; “Camera con vista” showcases Chamber of Commerce events and initiatives; “Sondaggi e Indice Imix” offers access to Milan business confidence survey statistics (Imix); “Impresa diretta” offers companies a soapbox; and “Cortidimpresa” features shorts from new directors.
