Today marks the 30th anniversary of the National Civil Protection Department, with which TIM has been working since its inception. Ensuring the availability and continuity of effective channels of communication is essential in managing a crisis, whether large or small, to save lives and protect our territory, artistic heritage and environment, while at the same time providing concrete support for restarting.
For this reason, over time we have developed a crisis management system that includes our presence at the Operational Committee of the Civil Protection Department and other local and regional Crisis Units and more than 200 people throughout Italy, organised into teams ready to intervene on the ground and to deal with natural and other disasters and health emergencies.
Among the most recent occasions in which we worked alongside the Civil Protection Department were the initial and most acute phases of the Coronavirus emergency, when we worked to guarantee continuity and quality of service to citizens, schools, businesses and institutions, while at the same time working to protect the health of all Group employees as far as possible.
But that’s not all. Our people are always involved in the prevention and post-emergency phases as well, to spread knowledge of the risks and good practices to be followed, and also to propose solutions as quickly as possible and encourage a return to normality.
The goal of the Civil Protection Department is to take care of our country, people and territory, a goal to which we are proud to contribute, offering all our skills and technology, so that every critical situation can always be managed in the most timely and effective way, for the safety of each and every one of us.
